Things to do
This list is also based on our personal experiences. It gives you a guide what you maybe should do before you go on holiday. Although it's personal it may be useful for you. We would really appreciate it if you would help us to expand this list. Contact us and tell us what is missing.
- Do a holiday check for your car at the garage, or do it yourself
- Check the tire pressure
- Check car fluids
- Get coins for toilets on the go (necessary in some countries)
- Search for a place to stay for the night. You can do this right here on Stay1Day
- Write down highways / junctions in case the navigation breaks down
- Charge phone(s) and laptop(s)
- Wash your clothes
- Make pictures of your possessions in case of robbery (and take them with you)
- In some countries you need to turn off the speed camera warning system on your navigation
- Figure out what to do on holiday
- Inform neighbours and/or family and friends how to feed your pets and inform them what to do else when you are on holiday, like watering the plants
